The Modern Hands

Every other edition in this shop starts from a dated plate we also sell. These six do not. They are the twentieth century’s own grammars — silkscreen and flat spot colour, a printed cover plate, Californian acrylic, desert modernism, the black ink of the 1890s, and paint laid on thick in daylight — carried across the whole wheel.

No plate behind them, and we would rather say it than have you notice. Each sign is posed differently in every hand, so the six are six paintings and not six finishes of one.
